Due to a, hm, less than optimal experience with another service, I have had my attention drawn towards the importance of being able to have a local copy of my data.

So I was wondering if using the API is still the recommended option for getting tickets (etc) out of Lighthouse or if there is an export option hiding somewhere that I am missing?

Jakob, at the moment the API is still the best option for this. I'm not fully sure when we'll see an official export option at this time. Lighthouse has a lot in store for it's future and RIck and them are using every spare moment of their time to get things in motion on our future plans.

As a QA engineer I support need for data export for reporting.

I'll take a look at the API.

Inbuilt custom reports and graphs would be really nice... Lighthouse is the prettiest tracker I've ever used and some slick reports exportable to jpg, pdf etc would be useful for presentations to clients, upper management etc. As teams/companies get larger the demands for easy to consume data from the issue tracker can increase.
