Messages and notifications

Hi there,

I was looking through the faq/knowledge base and couldn't find a direct answer to my question:

When messages are posted to the project, does anyone get notified?

I see lots of requests for being able to select who to notify, but I wasn't sure if the current functionality is to notify everyone or if nobody gets notified.

    At the moment no, the update for message notifications is around the corner. Possible tomorrow or early next week.

    Messages will be a universal notification at first probably. I'll have to check where we are on individual watchers notifications with tickets first.

    Hi Will, I'm still not seeing notifications to all users when messages are posted.

    I can understand there is some complexity with allowing posters to select who to notify, but a team-wide blast should be pretty easy to do. We really need this feature.

    Do you have an ETA for this?

    It's at the top of the list, but no ETA at the moment. I think one of the developers was working on it yesterday. I'll check with them and get back to you though.

    @everybody who has this problem:

    We currently added a bin called '@discuss' with the following filter:

    not-state:closed not-state:invalid milestone:next tagged:@discuss

    This actually allows us to discuss multiple things at the same time and having a list of all ongoing conversations. If a topic has been decided upon the ticket can be converted into a regular one by removing the "@discuss" tag or closing it and creating a new one for the task.

    This is very flexible and potentially better then the message system could ever get.

    If we get this feature, it'll be possible to disable it in user settings of course.

    I keep receiving spam emails from spam posts on this ticket. What's going on?
