ask around the office if someone can give you an experienced
opinion.

Lighthouse is a hosted ticket-tracker system, designed for
simple development workflow. It doesnt include a wiki or charts
because its designed for developers to interact and do one thing,
develop. Tickets are designed to either be important or not. We've
invested a lot of personal experience from our own workflow and
experience into how Lighthouse functions as a ticket tracker, and
simplicity is a key factor.

Lighthouse still feature packed though. It comes with email
capability, version control integration, milestones, ticket
priorities, a unique search/ticket-bin system, an API so you can
build custom tools.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

Will Duncantag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/169862008-11-21T02:57:46Z2009-06-20T20:05:25ZDifference between Lighthouse and Redmine

Cool, thanks.

What I'm really looking for is a set of tools that will allow me
to do my job effectively. Right now, I am the only programmer in
our company, so it's all up to me to track issues, keep version
control, and manage projects. I'm trying to figure out the best way
to do it in an automated fashion as we are about to expand and
increase people, all of whom will be working for me. I'd like to
find a way to track issues and keep version control, and possibly
manage projects all in one set of tools.

I know you guys develop some other stuff. Can you suggest
anything for what I'm looking for?

mattcushingtag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/169862008-11-21T03:03:11Z2009-06-20T20:05:25ZDifference between Lighthouse and Redmine

I don't know of an all-in-one system. We use git/github for
version control, Lighthouse for bug tracking/development
management, and Tender, http://tenderapp.com for
product/application support. It's been working out really well for
us, and since that's what we use, and many other small development
teams like us, it's at the top of our list for suggestions.

Will Duncantag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/169862008-11-21T03:03:59Z2009-06-20T20:05:25ZDifference between Lighthouse and Redmine

also, both svn and git you can hookup to Lighthouse, so it
provides and all in one location for following your projects
development.

Will Duncantag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/169862008-11-21T03:15:34Z2009-06-20T20:05:26ZDifference between Lighthouse and Redmine

I completely forgot to mention, there is a free plan you can
signup and try Lighthouse out http://sera.lighthouseapp.com/plans
and upgrade down the road when if need it.

Will Duncantag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/169862008-11-21T23:41:41Z2009-06-20T20:05:34ZDifference between Lighthouse and Redmine

I don't want to knock our own products, but some folks have been
falling back on Basecamp. Commentable todos can be fairly
effective. Course, Lighthouse can be more powerful with states,
ticket bins, and source control integration.

There's a wide variety of products, but it can be hard to find
that one that's a perfect fit for your workflow. Good luck in your
search. If you don't like Lighthouse though, I'd be curious to hear
feedback on why...

Rick
