Getting invited users to register without creating a lighthouse app site for themselves

Is there a way to get invited users to register without having to enter in a lighthouse site for themselves?

I recently invited someone and he's asking me if he should create a lighthouse site for himself. I told him it shouldn't be necessary, but I don't see how there's a way around it. Might anyone know?

    When you invite someone from your Lighthouse account, they are asked to create a user profile or accept the invite under a previously create profile.

    You do not need to create a Lighthouse account, just accept the invite and create a new profile in the process. That profile is universal though, and can be used on any Lighthouse account, or to create your own.

    Oh, I see now. I should have just invited myself via a different email address so that I could see this for myself. I've posted a snapshot of the login screen for the archive's sake.
