status:open!
Maybe I missed an announcement but is status:open! with exclamation point new? All my ticket bins started showing only open tickets and not new tickets. When clicking around I noticed status:open! on some default ticket views. Is "open!" the new special status to see all open and new tickets?

It is! I inadvertently pushed some stuff to master this weekend before I was ready with the FAQ updates and blog post. Basically,
state:open!andstate:closed!are special, and anything without the exclamation finds tickets with just that state. We found the old behavior was causing a lot of confusion with users being forced to write queries likestate:open not-state:newto find tickets that are 'open' and not 'new'.I know, I completely screwed up what should have been more smooth transition. It all just got wrapped in with other minor tweaks and optimizations that I added over the weekend.

We're actually reverting back to the original
state:opensearch criteria and removingstate:open!for the time being. It was not an intended deployment on our part and is causing a number of issues with other users. We apologize for the inconvenience.3 Posted by Todd Webb on 19 Feb, 2009 08:17 PM
Will "state:open!" still work? I am going to have to modify a whole bunch of ticket bins again if it breaks, before my clients see them. If "state:open!" will not work when you revert, what is the timing. I need to know when to go fix the bins.

You should go ahead and update those bins immediately. We sincerely apologize about the shift in the search criteria, the unexpected changes were a complete mistake on our part.

Actually, I believe those changes should have already been made for you, but please do double check that the bins are correct.

Yep, they are all changed to "state:open". Thanks for the communication.

I fixed it and reverted them all last night. I double checked this morning, and there are no ticket bins with state:open! or state:closed!.
