Can I upload a file and give other people access to it, as in google docs. It would be nice to have files everyone can have access to it.

    Rich,

You can create a new message and attach a file(s) to it and share the link with others.

Well, the message area is only accessible to the project members. We don't plan to provide any way of sharing files with other people without giving them access to your project.

    That's ok.

In our scenario for Columbia, it's no problems with access to project memebers. For one project though. can we all access a file, make changes, save them, and continue to work on them collaboratively, just like in google docs? We need to find out because we need to set up for a site redesign shortly. We would have about 45 members, so it's a good account for you guys. I just don't know if you can do what we need and that's why I'm checking.

    Thanx.

Google docs has collaborative editing.. Are you looking for something like a wiki? It looks like you want locking as well. This type of thing might be better served from a source-control management tool rather than a web application. Or am I confused?
