Tender account created automatically?
I just commented on a blog post at hoth.entp.com and seconds later I got the following email:
Hey there [me],
We just wanted to let you know that your account has been successfully activated.
Did commenting automatically create an account for me at Tender without asking me? If so, that's seriously not cool. I wouldn't mind if there was a check box or something near the comment, but automatically signing me up for a service I didn't opt it for is hugely not OK.
Also, this email is confusing. It doesn't identify when I'm signed up with Tender (it took me a second to realize Tender was by the Lighthouse people). When I go to tender, what is my password? Is it the same as my Lighthouse app password? The email gives no clues.
If I'm totally mistaken about this, I apologize (and I'm confused as to why I suddenly have a Tender account).

No. Did you hit the Lighthouse tender? it just uses your Lighthouse cookies to sign you in. The email gets sent the first time you visit tender.
The email definitely could use some better wording (or even better, no email at all, since Tender is really just another function of Lighthouse).

Gotcha. Yeah, I wasn't sure if "activated" meant "created" or not.
In any case, getting an email like this after visiting a site is pretty confusing. I'd prefer no email at all, but if you must, please make it more clear why I got it and what the next action is.
Thanks very much.
