Italics in parenthesis do not render as italics (*lorem ipsum*)
I would expect the syntax:
(*lorem ipsum*)
To render the words "lorem ipsum" in italics surrounded by a pair of parenthesis. However, something causes the stars to appear as literal stars in the LH rendered output.
Test:
(*lorem ipsum*)

Looks like the following works with our Markdown flavor:
