invite link in email isn't working
The invite email link doesn't take the user anywhere when they click on it, is there an alternate link I can send users to sign up at?

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

What do you mean by, doesn't take them anywhere? Can you show me a screenshot?
It should bring them to a new user page (unless there is a lighthouse account already)
