Recurring tickets?

I know that is probably possible through the use the API and cron running on a local linux server to have a new task generated every X days with the same subject and assigned to whatever is the current milestone at creation, but is there any other support implemented or planned for supporting recurring tickets?

In our case, we are using lighthouse tickets for all internal tasks/issues and tender discussions for customer issues.

Note that the only shared content between tickets would be the subject - I could see this being very helpful.

No, we're not planning on recurring tickets at this time. Another ideal cron task :) It's something we've discussed, but the team can't agree on its usefulness or implementation (the split seems to be right down the line of managers vs developers; "this belongs on a calendar" is the most common argument against)
