Tags are part of the export file (http://itrgroup.lighthouseapp.com/export),
but it appears somehow they were overlooked on the project level
CSV file. Thanks for pointing that out to us and we'll update for
the next deploy.

Thanks,

Do you know when this will be fixed?

Tags as part of the CSV export has been deployed. Thanks for your patience!

Nicole

Nicoletag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/22334392010-09-27T18:29:16Z2010-09-27T18:29:16ZInclude tags in the export file

Nicole,

I tried the export, it does contain the tags, but unfortunately when there are multiple tags, I can't use it with Excel. My goal is to count how many tickets are open for each tag. I am not aware of any excel command to count if a cell "contains" a value versus equals a value.

I tried using spaces but that messes up the rest of the export.

Can you have each tag separated by a comma? This makes importing into excel easy. Even if the heading is off that is okay.

Thanks,

commas. Also, tags can be two words with a space - e.g., "Version 2.0"
- so your tag list will look like
ui bugs "Version 2.0" launch

For excel, have you used the 'countif' function?

Tiger Teamtag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/22334392010-09-27T19:14:34Z2010-09-27T19:14:34ZInclude tags in the export file

http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/excel-help/countif-HP005209029.aspx
has some functions that look pretty much like what you want here.

Tiger Teamtag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/22334392010-09-27T19:43:50Z2010-09-27T19:43:50ZInclude tags in the export file

Yes I have used the count if function. I appreciate you helping with this. However, one of the limits with Excel you cannot count if there are two values in a cell. All their examples have one value in the cell. Since there are multiple tags in the export field I have a work around. I convert using comma, then delete all columns except tags. Save it, then open with spaces as a delimiter, then I get the single values in each cell.

Example:

Column A
tag1
tag2
tag1 tag2

if you use the expression: countif(A1:A3,"tag1") you will only get a return of 1 not 2.
I am not aware of how to use the countif command with a "contains" function.

Also I don't believe tags can have spaces in lighthouse, at least we don't allow them in our tagging.

Thanks,

you can use "Text to Columns" to split the tags column into multiple
columns without messing with the CSV file.

If you want to do this regularly, you could also build your tag list
with something like this:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AsxdtgWhAZ2HdC1uMmNic3ppWF...

Basically it takes a few rows, splits the tags out, and does a count
of them in your document using a simple uniqueness checker and a
countif.

You'll probably use 'lookup' in excel instead of 'index' (they're
basically equivalent). And I'd put this as Sheet 2, where Sheet 1 is
your CSV export, so you can just add the sheet to the doc and it
magically calculates everything. Let me know if you want me to explain
anything in there.

Tiger Teamtag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/22334392010-09-27T21:24:55Z2010-09-27T21:24:55ZInclude tags in the export file

Courtney,

Thanks for the help! I am able to get what I want by highlighting the tags column and choosing "data" - "text to columns"
