My company would really be interested
in purchasing a downloadable version of lighthouse, strictly for
internal development work. Because of it's seamless integration
with warehouse (our svn browser of choice), this would make an
excellent addition.</p>
<p>The primary reason I bring this up isn't that it is a paid
monthly service, but more along the lines of having to rely on an
external host. I know that Engine Yard is really reliable, but it
still doesn't beat having it in my own datacenter. Also, due to the
nature of some development projects, having an internal service for
the purposes of security is always a plus.</p>
<p>If there is some sort of on-the-down-low version available, I've
got a purchase order ready to be signed off on. :) Do let me
know.</p></div>tarnawskatag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-02-20T09:26:52Z2009-06-20T20:56:11ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>Wheels are in motion... Though it's a big step for such a small
team to offer and support multiple versions of our products. I
don't want to say too much since nothing's really finalized
though.</p></div>Ricktag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-02-20T09:47:50Z2009-06-20T20:56:11ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>Do you guys have an ETA on this? I work for Fox and we're dying
to have a lightweight app like lighthouse to use for our internal
dev stuff.</p>
<p>I'm serious; I could have a purchase order signed in the next 24
hours for this.</p></div>tarnawskatag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-02-21T19:45:03Z2009-06-20T20:56:11ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>Hah, I couldn't even reply in 24 hours :) (I did reply on my
iphone yesterday but never actually submitted.. ugh).</p>
<p>No ETA for this, sorry. We're looking at offering custom
virtualized servers that you could run on your own servers. If you
wanted something more custom, it'd probably cost a lot more to set
it up. Lighthouse requires setup of other things like email
checking, background s3 upload jobs, memcache, etc.</p></div>Ricktag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-02-26T10:13:06Z2009-06-20T20:56:12ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>I've spent pretty much all day looking for a relatively simple
change request/ticket system and came across this i'd be willing to
pay for a downloadable version but don't really like the idea of a
hosted one. i like to keep everything on my server.</p>
<p>every other script i've found has generally had an interface
which is like designed by the Windows 95 team or been too buggy so
I'm not interested in them...</p>
<p>I may have to resort to writing my own basic script to be honest
which sucks but seems to be my only option at this stage...</p>
<p>dam the person who first said "if you want something done you
gotta do it yourself" because it's always true</p></div>fatjoeztag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-02-27T01:32:31Z2009-06-20T20:56:12ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>fatjoez -- I know what you mean about the windows 95 team design
stuff. There are actually some nice apps out there, but they are
horrid to use in the end.</p>
<p>I can say that LH has worked wonders for our team, at first we
were hunting for something we could host on our own as well, but
ended up trying LH back when it was a new kid on the block, and
it's so easy to use we never thought twice about it.</p>
<p>But like rick said, it's something he's had up his sleeve, but
at the moment he's been so busy there isn't really an ETA, and the
setup is pretty complex at this point. He's got it tweaked out to
run hellaciously well here.</p></div>Will Duncantag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-02-29T04:45:05Z2009-06-20T20:56:12ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>It would be nice to be able to have the option to download
either version (raw source code or the embedded server). Some of us
are fairly adept systems administrators and should be able to get
LH running with a bit of documentation.</p></div>tarnawskatag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-04-04T19:05:09Z2009-06-20T20:56:14ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>I administer a project management service internal to my company
based on Gforge at the moment. A survey of my 2000 users showed
that the only services they are really concerned about are SCM (CVS
and SVN), web based SCM browsing and ticket tracking. I have been
looking for over a year for a replacement for our crusty and very
expensive GF installation and have unfortunately come up empty.</p>
<p>I was <em>shocked</em> to find that WH was only $30. By way of
comparison, our GF installation costs tens of thousands of dollars
per year...and most users only need three main services?</p>
<p>It would be pretty easy for me to justify purchasing a version
of LH that could be hosted inside my firewall for even a few
thousand dollars! I'm hoping this topic is seriously taken under
consideration.</p></div>Jeremy Maziarztag:help.lighthouseapp.com,2008-09-20:Comment/111812008-08-07T23:01:13Z2009-06-20T20:01:26ZDownloadable version of LH?<div><p>Bumping this thread to see if there's any more thought on making
a download version of Lighthouse.</p></div>tarnawska
