Sorting tickets by milestone should follow defined milestone order

Dear support

In the Milestones tab, it is possible to specify the desired order of milestone. Imagine I configured milestones in the following order
F1, A1, G2

Imagine I search tickets and I find many tickets, across all these milestones. I click on the "Milestone" column to sort. The sorting is currently done based on the alphanumeric name of the milestone. So the search results will display tickets for A1, F1 then G2. Should not that sorting be done according to the order I defined in the Milestones ? Ie results for F1 then A1 and G2 ?

This is similar to when I sort by Importance (Low,Medium,High). It sorts in the right order, and not (High,Low,Medium as it would be if it was the alphanumeric value). Same with age, it sorts by some underlying datetime field there, and not the alphanumerical rendition of it. So I think sorting Milestones should be consistent with that behaviour as if you give the user the ability to order the milestones then that order should then be taken into account.
Thank you !
Kind regards

    Hi Vincent,

I believe you are right; do the milestones in question have dates attached?
Do you have any millstones with dates?

    HI Courtenay

Some do have a date but others don’t.
I just tried it again and it seems it works… I’m puzzled ! Could I have reported that in error ?
    Kind regards

It's possible that you changed the order and it hadn't updated everywhere
yet? Updates like that can take a minute or sometimes even the ticket or
project must be updated before the dropdown list updates. It's one of the
tradeoffs of generating a fast page render. It works 99% of the time, until
    it doesn't. :)
