Schedule recurring ticket creation?

Hi, we've been using Lighthouse for 9 months so far and loving it. However, we have a number of repeating tasks that we'd like to assign and resolve as individual tickets each day. Is it possible to schedule ticket creation on a recurring basis?

If not, could you suggest any workarounds, hacks or tips to approximate a repeating ticket-creation process? Thanks!

  1. Hey Matthieu. There isn't a feature for recurring tickets. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to hack something with the API that would create tickets whenever it runs. Naturally that's going to take some coding efforts, but it wouldn't be particularly difficult for someone who knows what they are doing.

  2. Thanks for the info, Will! Do you know of any individuals or groups familiar with the Lighthouse API that are available to be contracted for a hack like that?

  3. How much do you know about shell scripts (bash) or ruby or python? (if anything)

  4. Hi Court3nay! In terms of programming, I know nearly nothing about shell scripts, ruby, and python.

  5. OK. Basically, it IS possible (and not too difficult for a programmer) to schedule things, but you'd need to run the script yourself on a server automatically every day.

  6. Sure, that sounds fine-- a few clicks in the morning beats a thousand. Is there a person or Lighthouse dev community I should reach out to for something like that?

  7. You know I've been thinking about this a bit more - the easiest way to do this would be to send an email daily. You send an email to the secret new ticket email address, and set up something on your end to schedule that email.

This is usually a feature of most mail clients..
