I can see how I can do a couple of standard things:
1) edit the ticket's title. (i can edit the description, but not the title)
2) resolve the ticket (there is a drop down to change the status, but I was expecting a big "resolve" or "close" button).

At the bottom of the ticket form, under the attachment field, is a text link titled "Change Title". Click that to be able to change the title. This is going to be improved in upcoming releases of Lighthouse.
Depending on how you set up your project states, you may or may not have a resolve state. Lighthouse gives you two overall categories of Open and Closed and within those two states you can customize as many Open states and Closed states as you wanted. You just need to select the ticket state and update the ticket.
