Managing Tags

It seems there's no way to manage tags or restrict tags to existing tags. I'd like to be able to use a small controlled set of tags to manage my long running project. As it stands, the list has become polluted with all kinds of useless tags, thus making it more difficult to encourage usage of the 'approved' tags.

This also seems like a problem for Rails. I hadn't really logged into the system for a couple months, and though it seems core was trying to control this at the outset, now there are hundreds of tags.

I know it's not an easy problem to solve. Any thoughts from the team or from other customers?

We have plans for a mass tag editor which should be ready in the near future. Open Lighthouse projects do often get clunky with tags and ticket organization, which is part of the reason we built in order to split the input from the developers workflow, but be able to integrate the two seamlessly.

Well damn, I didn't even realize this was your new app integrated with lighthouse.

I gotta say this looks pretty sweet. Personally for me Lighthouse has never quite hit the sweet spot and I've oscillated between Lighthouse and a lighter-weight process using basecamp todos and writeboards, but this is a definite killer app.

The tag organization issue is surprisingly quiet on Google, but I gotta say a basic tag manager would increase the usability for my project by an order of magnitude.

Thanks, Tender has been quite a trip so far. Still some kinks to work out.

You can follow or for Lighthouse announcements and status updates. When we deploy the tag editor feature, we'll be posting there. Sadly, we don't have an ETA at the moment, but hopefully within the next few weeks.
