Consistency checks for SMTP ticket submission

Hi,

I appreciate that SMTP is a best effort transport protocol, but I was wondering if there was any way to do a consistency check between LH tickets created via email and my own sent mail queue?

I've just noticed that some tickets that I've created via email have disappeared, which may not necessarily be a LH issue per se, especially seeing as they may not have been routed to your mail queue.

   Hey Ben. There isn't really a way for us to do that on a wide scale. We can check individual emails to see if they processed through. I've never heard of a ticket disappearing before though. We they ever in Lighthouse or just never made it from your email into Lighthouse?

   Hi Will, I appreciate this is difficult to do at scale and it is also conceivable that Gmail is to blame for not actually delivering the mail. Having said that, I have just noticed a further occurrence of this issue. Today I created these two tickets via emails:

   • http://diffa.lighthouseapp.com/projects/60794/tickets/333
   • http://diffa.lighthouseapp.com/projects/60794/tickets/334

   Later on I noticed that only ticket 333 had been created in LH. I went into my Sent Mail folder in Gmail and found the body for the 334 ticket, and resent that mail. So the second time around the mail was routed and was processed in LH.

   So it could still be a Gmail issue, but I just wanted to make you aware of what it is looking like from the outside.

   Hey Ben,

   Looks like our mail host got a little over-enthusiastic on spambinning certain emails. I've whitelisted you and future emails should be fine.
